6. They do not elect the President. Their hands are tied.

Imagine if each state were given a small pile of poker chips, and based on the election, they threw the appropriate number of “red” or “blue” chips into the pot. Would you say that the chips elected the president?

The whole thing should either be set to rights, or abolished.

Personally, I like the idea of electing trusted, qualified people to make choices on behalf of the people. (It’s called a “Republic.”)
