The situation today is the same as it was 40 years ago. The problem is known, the solution is known. Nobody wants to do what was necessary and that is even more true today.

Climate change and the effects that will at some point become too obvious to ignore, is ignored by just about everyone.

It's kind of like Trump. Nobody believes it can really happen until it does.
