More affordable catalysts will make “green hydrogen" more affordable. Among other things, “green hydrogen” can be used to make “green ammonia” for fertilizer (rather than producing it using the Haber-Bosch process.)

At this point roughly half of the world’s population depends on food grown using fertilizer produced using the Haber-Bosch process.;
