Sadly, it is not fast enough.

China’s strategy is much wiser than a Nuclear Zealot’s. China is in the process of building new nuclear plants, but, while they are being built, they are rapidly deploying renewables. A Nuclear Zealot would say, “Don’t build any renewables at all, just wait for the nuclear plants to be built.”

The great strength of “renewables” is the speed with which they can be deployed and the (relatively) low cost to do so. The great advantage of nuclear power (both fission and fusion) is the relative constancy of the power they supply.

However, even China is not building fast enough.
