Yes, renewables are now generating more electricity than coal. Thats great, but it doesnt mean theyve put coal out of business.
The reality, which NNadir denies is that we will not have an electrical system run purely on nuclear power. The reality, which you dont like is that it also will not be run solely on variable renewables, and at this point, coal use worldwide has not fallen off a cliff.

We primarily heat our buildings with furnaces which burn fossil fuels. Our farmers depend heavily on synthetic fertilizers which are manufactured using natural gas
