20. easy now, no disrespect intended.....

Just a little good nature humor. As I said, meme's.

While I'm just one of those omnivores supposedly destroying the planet one hamburgler at a time, I have both vegan's and vegetarians in my family. It makes holiday's interesting. We always make what we can vegan (breads are easy, dessert's are tricky but we have had good success), or vegetarian, depending on the guests coming. Luckily our family vegan's aren't steadfast about things like honey or sugar.

But one of the vegetarians is what I'd term militant. She insists that food be separated by at least 3 feet, and nobody can even have an offending food on their plate when they stop at a vegetarian dish. She gets a lot of eye rolls. You will know she is vegetarian pretty quickly in a social setting. The vegans are actually more subdued in this crowd. They ask questions about the actual food, but don't pontificate unless asked.

And then there was this time I was checking into a nice hotel, and just asked the receptionist if she new of a good sushi restaurant so I could get dinner. She gave me this look like I just asked her for anal sex and said "I'm a vegetarian, how would I know". Not so much as a question, but a seathing statement. Now i don't really care, but as a top tier hotel front line rep, she could have at least been more polite and said something neutral and looked it up.

So not all vegans/vegetarians are militant, but the loud ones make the stereotype.

Again, apologies. Didn't mean to offend anyone.

Nope. I am an average vegetarian. And none of the ones I know will do that, unless provoked about being vegetarian NoRethugFriends Jan 2 #14
