And why would it not be sufficient to penetrate relatively thin aluminum panels?

So a plane can't fly close to the ground for a fraction of a second? What would happen?

The planes hit the WTC at high speed.

People heard the engines. There is even film footage of it.

If there were explosions in the basement, how did they cause a collapse from the top down?
