The Anglican Communion has a lot of member churches, with the Church of England being the flagship. Many of these places are very conservative. Those churches will leave the Anglican Communion before they will endorse/accept same sex marriage.

The English church is a lot closer to the American (Episcopalian) position than not, but they are quite aware that they will cause a major schism if they formally take this step. I’m not holding my breath that they will do so any time soon.
