as the most milquetoast WASPy straight male I take the use of “queer” as not just taking the word back but throwing it back in the face of those who used it so negatively in the past. Sort of a “Well look who ended up winning” shove it in their face type thing. But that’s just my smart ass punk rockish F The Man General take on things.
