There were probably tons of trans children and teenagers who fell in love with the Harry Potter series. The amount of hurt and disappointment they probably felt when she revealed herself to be a hateful, fear-mongering bigot is something that truly breaks my heart to think about.

Trans people are being victimized and abused like no other right now. We've come a long way from even ten years ago, but we still have so much progress to make. As long as people like J.K. Rowling, Riley Gaines, and other celebrities/influencers are able to spew lies and create unnecessary fear without repercussions, I fear it'll be a long while before we get over this period of anti-trans bigotry.
