1. Way before Lasik

there was radial keratotomy (RK) which I had in 1983. While mine was successful, and I could go to about the year 2000 without glasses, if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't. I'm not sure if RK was better at avoiding this horrible side effect that Lasik seems to have, but if I knew I was risking it, I probably wouldn't have done it.
