his company-provided health plan at the time suggested a PSA. He also had no symptoms, except for bad breath (I know, I know, but it went away after surgery) and reduced semen, which we really didn't pay attention to, thinking it was just him getting older.

Fortunately, he is still here, years later, without a prostate, but with his life!
