2. I don't have hearing aids-- so what I have noted may have little bearing but...

it seems from some of the older people I have spent some time with lately that a lot of newer hearing aids are "in-ear" without the "around-the-ear" loop. These look, at least, very similar to the iPods (and their cheaper knock-offs) that many of us wear running, walking, and doing all manner of active movement. So, while I'm sure there is variation of styles and models, I can attest that the in-ear iPod style actually do stay in the ear quite well. I've had the "cheaper knock-offs" for more than a year now and had no issues. I walk/hike 4 miles a day typically as well as listen to podcasts at other times and they are reasonably comfortable. I wear sunglasses outdoors most of the time. No issues, as would be expected.
