8. The VA did a check on me after my PSA jumped and of 12 samples,

one showed cancer. A couple of years later, another found 0 of 12 and the same the next time.

My PSA dropped and when it went up again, they gave me finasteride and it went down. You are most likely to die of something else because most prostate cancer grows so slowly. For me, it's been 15 years and I'm days away from 77. I'm glad I refused to do anything about it. Even my urologist says wait now. Chances are very high that you are worrying unnecessarily and treatment today has much reduced risk of problems.
