In 2012, my mother had to be taken off the ship from Bahamas and flown to broward medical. Spent a week in the hospital. Had my sister not gotten her the medical, the price would have been at least 20K for the medivac alone. Thankfully she was smart enough to get my mom the ship insurance. We did have to pay a few hundred from the broward stay as it reverted to her Medicare and secondary US policy once in the states.
