1. Anyone that remembers the soap opera General Hospital in the '70s

knows about Lassa fever. A kid went to Africa and came back as a carrier. The breakout lasted for several weeks on the show. The hospital was trying to figure out who the carrier was. All the while the kid kept saying "On my trip to Africa, blah, blah..." Nobody paid attention to him. One of the few times I ever watched a soap for more than one episode. I must have been really bored.
