5. In our state needles are put in plastic containers such as a pickle jar.

The lid is taped on and Sharps is written on the outside of the bottle! It sounds crazy but that is the drill. We called pharmacy, fire station and police department and were told the same. These are needles for things like T and insulin, and pet insulin if that makes a difference. Here I would assume that if the epi was empty the same drill would hold true! We tried every way not to put them in the trash but a cat with two shots a day really creates a lot of sharps. It seems crazy!
