what do the men always did when they came home from work? Their wife pours their husband a drink. If guests are coming over you offer them a drink and a cigarette. It was good manners and was good hospitality. Can you imagine doing the same with weed? "Would you like an edible or a hit, my dearest? You look like you had a hard day at the office".
