front of the locomotive was curved and ran straight back from the window all the way to the back. I remembered seeing that on the news photos.

I've been interested in locomotives since I was young. I am old enough to have ridden the last steam locomotive passenger run from Chicago to Cleveland on the Nickle Plate Road. I got on in Toledo. I was four or so and I still remember it and that the conductor looked like George Goebel (a comedian on TV).
