8. Have you checked out the federal pre-existing condition pool?

There's no reason an employer couldn't give you a check to cover half the premium every month and the coverage sounds better than what you previously had. I've been on it for nearly a year and I've been pretty satisfied with it (although I'm still a single-payer advocate).
