... once counter clockwise keeping my arm straight and close to my head one rev and then do the same in reverse. Sometimes a simple bending off the elbow and using the other hang, gently pulling my arm across my chest works, too.

Ge gentle, slow and a little firm. I get relief at least 90% of the time, and I go easy on that should for rest of the day.

The idea is to lift the scapula off the nerve and then when it returns, it pushes the nerve out from under it.
