World AIDS day was today as it is every Dec. 1st [View all]

I remember AIDS world day from the past where we would hold a candle light vigil walk at night & read out loud the names of our loved ones that we had lost and I want to add at least for me that number is to high including my life partner.

Due to my health being a roller coaster ride for the 7 years I have not participated in Aids World Day. Today was different though, the weather was beautiful, I felt pretty good and I was asked to be there for the ceremony. To me, it wasn't a ceremony, it was a party, there were food trucks, a DJ, a photo booth.

My first thought was I was horrified as to what I was witnessing. I abruptly left.

Sitting here thinking what happened this afternoon I realized it was time for an old fart like me to pass the baton to another generation. I realize that HIV has become manageable in the developed world. but not so much in underdeveloped countries and in countries where people are oppressed.

At least I am left with precious memories.
