And to your point, all this reminds me that Republicans often refer to whistle-blowers as "Judases."

My favorite anecdote has to be that of an FBI regional official who provided Robert Kennedy with evidence of J. Edgar Hoover's abuse of power in the early 1960s (the tip of the iceberg, no doubt).

Hoover, who had been very fond of the official (I forget his name), called him into his office and among other things called him a "Judas."

"I'm no Judas, Mr. Director," the man replied with his strong Boston accent.

"And you're no Jesus Christ."
