These are a laminate. I like the ease of care. In my old US home the laminate showed wear in heavy use areas after 20 years. I had one section of butcher block here and when it was unscewed from the base it warped. I found it to be a bit more fussy to keep up than laminates.
I love induction tops. Fast, easier to clean because the surface doesn't get as hot. For cast iron you need smooth bottoms or you could get scratching.
Prices for induction have come down depending on features. Plus if you move from a teardown you can take it.
