A trip to a Russian supermarket in NYC’s Brighton Beach yielded a delicious dinner.

For the appetizer, we got some lovely salmon caviar similar to Japanese ikura and that’ll be served in scooped-out slices of cucumber. Dusted with fresh dill and drizzled with lemon juice.

Soft shell crabs coated with flour then sautéed in olive oil, butter and white wine and garnished with capers similar to a francese style. Rice and steamed asparagus to round out the meal.

Brandy and backgammon for dessert.
