10. Sounds like a good start, but asbestos scares the bejeezus out of me.

Were it me, I'd either call an abatement company to test it and remove it if positive, or if I were really desperate, I'd make sure to thoroughly wet the areas to be cut and wear a disposable coverall and good respirator.
