3. We had prolific peonies where I grew up... They were fifty or so years old and came up

with their red green leaves faithfully every spring and delighted us with beautiful red, deep pink, pale pink, and white blooms. I would watch those little bud balls grow rounder and bigger with great anticipation every year. Peonies are the perfect flower.

I love living in Florida. I see birds I'd never have seen up north (including bald eagles, and once, whooping cranes), and many different kinds of flowers that don't bloom up north, but I really miss peonies, Queen Anne's Lace, pussy willows, and lilacs...
