Might have a need, for now, to have a secret place where you can't find her. A security thing for her peace of mind. That she came to bed after you were asleep shows that she wanted to exercise her personal power to step out of the regular goings on, but not permanently. She may just need to have her own spot where only she goes.

Glad that she is adapting to the world inside the house, her personality will develop as time goes on, she sounds like she'll be a feisty little sweetheart.
