Sweet Merlin is now in full out, belly off the ground, bumble around the floor mode [View all]
His little legs are finally strong and coordinated enough for him to explore and follow me around like a little tiny shadow. His little tail is straight up like a spike.
He is still quite small for his age, so I haven't been able to adjust his feeding schedule by much more than an hour, so ever 5 instead of every 4 hours. This week I'm going to start feeding him out of a bowl instead of a bottle modified to handle the slurry.
Yesterday my friend was holding him, but when Merlin heard my voice he made it known he wanted his 'mom'. That warmed my heart.
Now that he's fully mobile, I'm going to give him the run of the house, although I'll keep a close eye on him, and when I'm gone he will be in the play pen. He's a champion climber but hasn't quite figured out how to climb up my leg. I have a feeling that's going to be happening real soon.
Arthur and Gryff will hang around when Merlin is on my lap. Madoc still keeps his distance, but there's no more hissing or growling when he encounters his new baby brother. Carys is just staying away. I've been having LOTS of people over, during the past week, so poor Carys has been pretty much invisible, appearing only when I'm the only hooman in the house.
Right now it's just me and the kidcats, although I expect to hear the front door open at any time, now. My friend leaves early Friday morning so I'll spend the rest of that day just working on getting all of my kid cats blended into a lovely circle of siblings. Maybe they will get some extra Churu treats if they cooperate.
Now my goal is to figure out how to post videos.
