I'm sure I proudly wore a red rose, in a past life, and was a follower of the House of Plantagenet. I don't quite have a Shakespearean view of Richard. He, like most who vied to be King, was a bit despotic and like many he underestimated the determination and deadly skills of the Welsh and their Long Bows. And I do believe he had his nephews killed.

An interesting character to read about is Henry VII's mother, Margaret Beaufort. Without her there there would never have been a House of Tudor, so never a glorious Elizabeth I, my favorite person in history. Margaret has a truly amazing story. I don' think a lot of people realize that, for the most part, women ARE the greatest force in history.
