6. Our rescue cat supposedly has FIV.

Vet told us so, when we first got him. (Actually, cat chose us. No negotiations at the time, done deal as far as he was concerned.)

Vet gave us the bad news just before he said 'shall we put him down?'

Wife and I went NO! at the same time.

Anyhow, 7 years later, he is still with us.

FIV does kill them early, from experience with previous FIV positive cats.
But not today.
