American History

I know more about him than I do the others. The reason I know more about him is that he is a distant cousin of mine. When I was in elementary school my dad wanted me to learn about my American roots so that I'd stop identifying solely with my birth mother's family from India and realize that my American roots went pretty deep too, so he told me a lot about my colonial ancestors and other colonial relatives. For good measure, Dad threw in non-relatives too, including George Washington, but Dad may have included George Washington because Dad's 3rd great-grandfather had been at Valley Forge with him. Kidding. Dad didn't just "throw in" George Washington or any other Revolutionary patriots. He deeply admired and respected them.
