Recently, I saw a baseball story about chimaek. In the South Korean press coverage of the Blue Jays over the Yankees, I thought I saw the players enjoying beer with their fried chicken order. It's not chimaek, without mekju (beer), so chimaek is a Konglish expression; chi is just short for chicken.

the Blue Jays 80 million dollar pitcher Ryu Hyun Jin has promoted fried chicken commercials in South Korea with beer featured prominently. I understand he has a ramen sponsor as well.
