7. i have no problem with safety conscious gun owners

who hone their skills frequently at a range (instead of in the back yard) and secure their guns away from kids at home. These gun owners are just not the problem.

The problems are all the swaggering idiots for whom guns are a fashion accessory as well as their admittance to a cult in which a gun confers such awesome power that everyone should be forced to carry openly.

I can only hope their children who survive their careless handling and storage of loaded guns at home are disgusted by the whole idea and turn the arsenal in as soon as the swaggering idiots kick the bucket for a bounty from the local police for getting massive numbers of guns off the street.
