9. hemp oil and cannabis oil are two different things, as well

hemp oil comes from hemp seeds and has no psychotropic activity. the oil is contained in the seed.

cannabis oil comes from the whole plant (especially and including the flower buds of female plants) and the cannabinoids are extracted in some sort of solvent (alcohol, etc.) and is then reduced.

A lot of plant material goes into making a very small amt. of oil - and the oil itself is used in very small amts.

This is Rick Simpson oil and, now, Sativex. They are virtually the same thing. The difference is that Sativex is created in controlled lab conditions with the same percentages of cannabinoids each time.

Someone making his/her own cannabis oil has to rely upon the skill of others they don't know. That's not to say it's not effective, but just to note the difference between something that has had the funding behind it to go through all the trials and to fund an operation large enough to function as a profit-making entity.

Sativex, btw, has lobbyists who formerly worked for the Drug Czar office who are now pretending that Sativex isn't whole-plant cannabis to try to get around the restrictions of the DEA regarding legal cannabis vs. legal synthetics (like marinol, which, people have found, is less effective and causes more unwanted side effects than whole-plant cannabis.)
