relative to the rest of the industrialised world the US already has a wild west culture of guns... the same number of Americans die at the end of a gun every 33 days as died on 9/11, and more Americans have died at the end of a gun in the last 15 years than died in WW2.
Pretty hard to look at those numbers and think there's not a problem. At least it is for me.
