I believe this drop is due to the continuing education of the public as to what guns are what, not which guns are ipso facto "worse" than others. Just as the upswing in firearm sales has been going on since before Obama took office, there are some long-term trends which reflect activist education efforts, new viewpoints reaching Americans from outside the traditional MSM, and conversely, how utterly static the controller/banner/confiscator (CBC) outlook has become.

While I have seen little convincing evidence that an Armed and Carrying population has thwarted, stopped, or ameliorated crime, the public may have concluded that to be armed and carrying may be the only way to reduce the damage and frequency of "mass murder spectacles." We may find out if the public is right. In any case, this experiment Will go down with very little effective opposition.

Maybe our future will look more like Israel.
