private militias sworn to protect the country, and who regularly perform training exercises together with oversight/regulation by the government... not the secretive or individualistic stuff that seems to ignore the "well regulated" part of the Constitution?

People in charge of such militias might realize that ol' Zeke in their group is acting kind of kooky before he kills a bunch of innocent people too.

It's probably too late now, though. Those weapons are distributed throughout the country. Oh, well!
