Homeowner uses gun but not door for home defense [View all]

In the video, a homeowner used a gun to drive out 4 home invaders. But look at the 3 small pieces of wood from the door. The door was solid enough to keep out the elements, critters and the honest but didn't stand a chance against an average young male in good condition.

Home defense isn't just about having a gun. Home defense is a layered defense.

I personally have spent much more on exterior lighting, surveillance cameras and reinforcing doors then on my gun. Heck, even my master bedroom door is reinforced. My gun is my last layer of defense. Only to be used when the other layers fail to deter.
