There is drastic change the way the news is presented. [View all]

At 3:13 pm today we saw a post in General Discussion that said that Acting Navel Secretary has resigned..
I couldn't believe that post..so soon?.......................?? When did that Acting Sec screw up so bad? Now gone?.(.Yesterday..is that when the audio was leaked? I am not sure)

But the original post of the resignation was posted by ............ octoberlib.............in that forum..........

I immediately looked to see if that was correct, and I went to CNN and NYT to see if they had it up yet...
NO..it was not up yet..(I am sitting in a burb near Chicago)..at the computer looking at the news and DU comments and information.

...What must have happened is that octoberlib was connected to CNN earlier than me..at 3:13 pm ET.
.
.My connection in Illinois at the computer, did not have that yet at 3:19pm..for whatever reason???

I looked at about 3:19 ET....both CNN and NYT did not have it then. So I put up a post saying it wasn't there yet ...

..But at 3:24, it was up at CNN........... I immediately took that post down and put up a thank you for that post..

?????????????????????????????????

Maybe it is my location in Illinois, or that octoberlib has a better connection to CNN and was connected
sooner than us here in Illinois. Or, maybe that poster...octoberlib is on the list for immediate news as it happens from CNN...I don't know, and it really doesn't matter. That is up there now, and it wouldn't matter either way..

But imagine if what I saw is totally true. New York would have the news before Los Angeles because although the news is instant...it still takes time to cross the country..and visa versa...??

I don't know, maybe I have been watching all this too much. 5 or 8 minutes rarely makes a difference one way or another.......even in news reporting...but I wanted to post this, somewhere, just for the record..& I need to take a break...Thank You if you have taken the time to read this. I hope all are ok & surviving this disaster.
