the legal fiction in chicago is that you can keep chickens as pets, but not as livestock. it you dont name them, it makes it harder to say they are pets.
not that that saved me from the city w 20some chickens, but it will help my case eventually.

arent they fun, tho?
my chickens are my pets right up until they are my dinner. they all come begging, and most let me pet them as long as there is food involved.
they just mesmerize my sometimes.

gonna hatch up some chicks this spring. i cant wait.
