I milk these Nubians. I make cheese and my wife makes soap she sells at the farmer's market. I sell a small amount of milk off the farm. They are also registered so I sell the kids as breeding stock. ... The more truthful answer is I don't really make money off them and they are a lot of work but they do pay for themselves. Now boers go for like $250 cwt. the prices are unreal compared to cattle which have been in the gutter for 3 years... you wouldn't know it by the price of beef at the grocery store would you? Somebody makes money on that it just isn't the small cow calf guy.
