regarding hearing loss...

My mother lived into her 90's by which time she had extreme hearing loss (90% with state of the art aids)

Her mother lived into her eighties with severe hearing loss - had she lived as long as Mom, it could well have been as bad s Mom's.

I was in my fifties when I learned that, when Mom was a child, a favorite corporal punishment was to "box her ears." If Mom got this, yu know her mother got the idea from her own mother.

I am in my seventies, an age by which both had started to experience noticeable hearing loss. I have not noticed any yet.

Coincidence?
