16. I was in then, but didn't have one.

The only odd things we had were elastic bands to make the fatigue uniform trousers look as if they were tucked into the boots. When I wore a class-A uniform, I tied the tie, and the collars were free to do what they wanted.

Bad enough we had to deal with shoe polish and Brasso. No collar stays.
