The woman who had to march at the back of the suffragist parade so as to not offend white Southern women who wanted to vote.

One of the reasons that many black women wanted to start their own ERA was because of the racism of white women who wanted our numbers but not our input and/or experiences.

I am reminded of that every time I see some PUMA a la Jane Hamsher or remember Harriet Christian, the white woman furious that Obama had won the primary over Hillary and screamed for him to "wait his turn."

But yeah, lots of "progressives" don't want to hear about stuff like this. They have wrapped themselves far too tightly in their blankets of denial as they convince themselves that racism only comes from Conservatives.
