I was just in Tuscany and learned the first allied soldiers to liberate Lucca were African American. The second group to arrive were Black men from Brazil.

I remember during the Bork hearings an AA vet of the war testifying he was made to sit with the luggage on a train when he got home while a German POW sat up front.
