13. Uncomfortable White People

So many "but I'm not a racist" White People try to escape feeling uncomfortable about race by playing the color-blind card. It's their end-run attempt to avoid the entire issue and absolve themselves of White People Guilt, which is apparently a very heavy burden to bear.

I'm a White Person. A few generations back, one branch of my family owned slaves. I can't make that "uncomfortable" history go away. Day by day, I'm learning to live with discomfort that pales in comparison to what black people face every day.
