That respect for the Flag and Anthem MUST be demanded, despite the injustices that take place on a daily basis towards Americans, is indeed worthy of conversation.

The taking a knee by African American NFL players to bring light to police brutality and unfairness IS being PATRIOTIC!!! That they love this country so much, are aware of sacrifices others made for that Freedom to protest, are not to be dismissed otherwise, or treated like garbage.

I as a woman, can protest too. My right to control my own body, to vote, to challenge my government without reprisal when it is being abusive, etc., shall not be abridged. Nor shall that respect be demanded of me just because I live in this country. I may or may not choose do it at a sporting event, but I will do it none the less where applicable.

When the NFL players are taking a knee, I take a knee with them for the issues important to them.
