I went K-12 to Tulsa public schools (HS grad 57). NEVER once was it mentioned in school.

(A black colleague in the 90s when I said I'd just heard about it once---just loooooked at me and said 'We in the black community in Tulsa have always known about it.' )

My grandma, who ran a boarding house, told me once when I was in grade school about helping at the time her black cleaning lady and family.

One brother told me a bit ago that our dad (b in Tulsa in 08) remembered as a kid hearing people running down the alley behind their house. It was in walking distance of downtown.
