Phil Mickelson will be involved with the 2020 Ryder Cup team after all, but for the first time since 1995, it will not be as a player. Lefty and Fred Couples were named a vice captain by United States captain Steve Stricker on Wednesday. It marks the first time in Mickelson's career that he'll be with the team in a non-playing capacity.

Mickelson and Couples are the fourth and fifth vice captains for the team joining Jim Furyk, Davis Love III and Zach Johnson for the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits. The event begins Tuesday, Sep. 21.
